Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reiterated his administration’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the state.
In a meeting with members of the Vigilante Group and Professional Hunters in Lokoja on Tuesday, Governor Ododo stressed that security is a crucial priority of his administration’s agenda.
The Governor praised the Vigilante Group and Professional Hunters for their unwavering dedication and sacrifices in ensuring peace and safety across Kogi State, recognizing their relentless commitment to protecting the community and noted the positive results stemming from the government’s significant investments in security initiatives.
He thanked National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and the leaders of various security agencies for their strong support, which he emphasized as been vital in stabilizing the state’s security situation.
He also acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing competent individuals like Ribadu to effectively lead the nation’s security efforts.
State Security Adviser Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd) highlighted the Governor’s dedication to improving security measures to deter criminal activity. He praised the courage of the Vigilante Group and reaffirmed the government’s support for a “community-led security approach.”
Prof. Abdullahi Yau, the head of the Professional Hunters, assured Governor Ododo of their group’s unwavering cooperation with other security agencies to eliminate criminal activities in Kogi State.
Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bethrand Onuoha, commended the Professional Hunters for their effective operations and collaborative efforts with traditional security forces.
