From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has called on residents who may have lost valuables to come forward and identify items recovered from an interstate robbery syndicate recently dismantled by the Command.

The recovered property, which is currently being kept at the NSCDC State Headquarters in Ilorin, includes household appliances, food items, a vehicle and other valuables believed to have been stolen from different owners.

The Command made the appeal in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, ASC I Ayoola Michael Shola.

According to the statement, the recovered items include a Suzuki mini bus with registration number NRK 508 XD, a deep freezer (Hisense/Scanfrost), two standing fans (Qasa and Charweak), a Nexus washing machine, two Panasonic burners, two Hisense air conditioners and two Sectron water pump generators.

Other items recovered are 10 cartons of Golden Penny Chicken Flavour Noodles, two cartons of Terra Maggi seasoning, a wardrobe, a 6×4 Mouka foam mattress, an isolator switch, two 5,000-watt stabilisers, a TV shelf, a 50kg bag of sugar, two 10kg bags of Semovita, a bicycle and two 25kg containers of groundnut oil.

Ayoola urged members of the public who recognise any of the recovered items as theirs to visit the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Ilorin between Friday, July 3 and Friday, July 17, 2026, for identification and collection.

He said, “Individuals who believe any of the listed items belong to them should visit the Command Headquarters in Ilorin between Friday, July 3, and Friday, July 17, 2026, to identify and claim their property.”

The Command’s spokesperson explained that prospective claimants would be required to provide convincing proof of ownership before any item could be released.

He said acceptable documents include purchase receipts, invoices, warranty documents, photographs, vehicle registration papers where applicable, police reports or any other credible evidence that can establish ownership.

Ayoola added, “Only persons who satisfactorily establish ownership after due verification by the Command will have the recovered items released to them.”

The NSCDC assured residents that the verification exercise is aimed at ensuring the recovered property is returned to its rightful owners while preventing fraudulent claims.
