The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Kogi State Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. David Tijani Awulu, has paid a familiarisation visit to The Graphic, with a promise to help sustain the legacy of a vibrant information dissemination in the state.
He had earlier visited Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, where he lauded journalists in the state-owned media for projecting the state in very positive light.

During the courtesy visit on Thursday, the Technical Assistant to the Ministry, Mr. Ebenezer Adurodija, introduced Mr. Awulu as a seasoned technocrat.
Adurodija thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for putting square pegs in square holds, describing Mr. Awulu’s appointment as “a significant opportunity to serve the state.”
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Awulu commended the staff of The Graphic for their dedication and professionalism.

He commended staff of the Corporation for sustaining the Corporation’s mandate of positively reporting the activities of government and noted the “visible improvement in the quality of the newspaper over time.”
“We are on a familiarisation tour of all agencies under the Ministry, starting with The Graphic Newspaper, the Printing Press and others. I am happy to say that you are all doing well”, Awulu said.
He pledged to work with stakeholders to improve the Ministry and its agencies, stressing that “information dissemination remains very crucial in governance.”
Welcoming the delegation, the Managing Director/CEO of The Graphic Newspaper, Mr. Y.J. Itopa, said the tour reflected the new Permanent Secretary’s commitment to quality service delivery.
He highlighted some operational challenges at the Corporation and expressed optimism that the new leadership would address them.

Mr. Itopa also appreciated the Commissioner of Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, for “creating a conducive environment” for The Graphic to thrive.
The Executive Editor, Mr. James Oyewole, while delivering the vote of thanks, commended Mr. Awulu and his team for the visit and prayed for “divine strength and wisdom” as he pilots the affairs of the Ministry.
