Barely one week after a trailer accident claimed the lives of six students of the Federal University Lokoja along Felele road, two separate accidents have been recorded along the route.

The first lone accident which involved a fully loaded articulated vehicle carrying tiles, reportedly lost control before ramming into the median.

The impact it was gathered forced the vehicle to flip over on Monday spilling its content.

A few meters away, a Dangote truck carrying cement was said to have lost control due to break failure before it rammed into another truck ahead of it.

No life was lost in both incidents and no injury was recorded as the drivers and motor boys of all vehicles involved escaped unhurt.

However, roadside sellers, passersby, motorists and other road users scampered for safety in panic following the crashes while goods worth millions of naira were said to have been damaged as a result of the impact.

Meanwhile, the upturned loaded ceramic truck has obstructed a lane on the busy Felele highway. As a result, numerous motorists were trapped in the gridlock as at the time of going to the press.

The Felele route and adjourning roads have been noted in recent times for being accident prone due to the high volume of traffic and activities of articulate vehicles.

It would be recalled that six students of the FUL were killed on last Monday when an articulated vehicle and a shuttle bus carrying some students had an accident.

In December, 2024, a female student of the Federal University, Lokoja and another female student from the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja lost their lives one of such accidents.

In that particular incident, a heavily loaded articulated vehicle heading for Abuja along the Felele axis of the state capital (where the two schools are located) lost control and rammed into a tricycle popularly referred to as Keke NAPEP, that was carrying passengers heading to the main town.
