Kogi NAWOJ mourns death of FUL students

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Kogi State chapter, has expressed deep sorrow over the Felele Highway accident, that claimed the lives of some students of the Federal University, Lokoja.

The Chairperson of the Kogi State chapter of the Association, Comrade Stella Edoka, conveyed this sadness in a statement issued in Lokoja.

The statement extended sympathies to the parents of the deceased and the university community, praying for God’s comfort and strength for them.

It urged the state government to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident to prevent future occurrences.

The statement called on the government to install more speed bumps and implement other speed control measures along the Felele Highway, as accidents on this route have become a recurring issue.

The FUL community was recently thrown into mourning after a trailer accident claimed the lives of six students of the school.

The heavy-duty vehicle – carrying palm oil and firewood heading to Abuja, rammed into a shuttle taking FUL students from school at Felele, Lokoja.
