Kogi First Lady congratulates newly elected Local Government office holders

The First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected council Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and Councillors following last Saturday’s council elections in the state.

Hajia Sefinat described the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates as a reflection of God’s will and a testament to the dedication of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration to serving the people of Kogi State.

In her message, the First Lady encouraged the newly elected officials to prioritise the welfare of the local government residents, ensuring they reap the benefits of democracy.

“As you prepare to take on the responsibilities of your new offices, I wish you a successful tenure in office. It is my belief that your leadership across the 21 LGAs would impact lives at the grassroots and speed up development in your council areas as championed by the Governor of the State,” the First Lady stressed.

Mrs. Ododo called on the council Chairmen to give priority to issues of infrastructure development, improved healthcare, education, and inclusion in governance.

“I have no doubt that you will work assiduously in your various local government councils to address areas of priority such as healthcare, education, women, and youth empowerment. These would go a long way in improving livelihood of the rural populace, particularly as it affects vulnerable groups in our communities.” Mrs Ododo noted.

The First Lady, therefore, urged the newly elected Chairmen to work with relevant stakeholders across board to make rural communities feel the impact of governance.
