Gov. Fintiri presents over N486b budget proposal to Adamawa Assembly

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, of Adamawa State, has presented the 2025 fiscal year budget proposal of N486,218,047,600.00bn to Adamawa State House of Assembly.

Presenting the estimated appropriation bill tagged: “Budget of Service,” to the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Governor Fintiri noted that the budget is hundred percent higher compared to 2024 budget.

He said in the budget of over N486 billion, recurrent expenses will stand at N137 billion, which amounts to 28.23%. The remaining N348 billion, which is 71.77%, would go towards capital projects.

Gov. Fintiri stated: “My administration has pledged to achieve its eight-point agenda of security, infrastructure development, healthcare, food sufficiency, and education throughout this budget.

The Governor added that a budget of N88 billion has been set out for road construction throughout the state, highlighting the administration’s commitment to improving the state’s transport network.

“We are cognisant of the paramount necessity to link towns with drivable roadways in order to facilitate swift economic expansion,” he opened.

Fintiri, as part of his remarks on education, emphasised the importance of enhancing the system from elementary school to college.

He reiterated that, in an effort to boat education, “We are committed to reassessing the condition of our higher education institutions. “We will assist all schools in guaranteeing their revitalisation and ongoing enhancement in other tertiary establishments.”

On healthcare, he pledged N12 billion for the fiscal year of 2025 to make healthcare more accessible and affordable, emphasising that, “We have dedicated a significant N12 billion to health insurance, reinforcing our commitment to improving healthcare access.”

He pointed further that, jobs, food, and tax income are all directly tied to agriculture.

“The 2025 budget estimate proposes the sum of N12 billion for the agricultural sub-sector to strengthen farm mechanisation and ensure the safety of our farmlands,” he added.

For the collective development of Adamawa State, Fintiri commended the effort of the Speaker and the state Assembly members for their support and collaboration.

The Governor further that, “The budget represents more than just a financial plan, it’s a vision for a better Adamawa State.”

Responding, the Speaker, Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Wesley Bathiya, assured the Governor that the House will collaborate with its key stakeholders to expedite the bill’s passage.

Bathiya accordingly pledged that they will to work with the Governor so as to ensure Adamawa citizens enjoy the benefits of democracy.
