FUL MACOSA leadership visits Kogi Information Commisioner, partners on “Kogi rebrand 2026” and extends award night invitation

The executive leadership of the Mass Communication Students Association (MACOSA), Federal University Lokoja (FUL), have paid a high-level courtesy visit yesterday to the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Honourable Kingsley Fanwo, at the State Secretariat, Lokoja.

The Special Adviser to Kogi Satae Governor on Youth and Women Mobilisation, Honourable Charity Ijese Omole, led the delegation.

During the visit, the MACOSA President, Comrade Aishat Musa Umar, while introducing the executive body, commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s developmental strides, and praised Hon. Fanwo’s visionary leadership in driving the “Kogi Rebrand 2026” campaign.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements in public communication and state image-building, the MACOSA executive body formally extended a special invitation to Hon. Fanwo as an honored guest and award recipient at the association’s upcoming Annual Award Night, scheduled for 13th August, 2026.

In his response, the Commissioner expressed gratitude for the recognition and praised the student leaders for their proactive engagement. Elaborating on the core objectives of the rebranding initiative, he emphasised the critical need to take ownership of Kogi State’s narrative and showcase its true progress to the world.

He noted that government cannot achieve this goal alone, highlighting media and communication students as indispensable storytellers.

Hon. Fanwo announced the Ministry’s commitment to empowering MACOSA members with practical technical skills including graphics design, digital media, broadcasting, and public relations.

He further expressed the Ministry’s openness to having MACOSA students participate in live radio programmes, including sports coverage, as part of the partnership, and declared the Ministry’s full readiness to collaborate with FUL Mass Communication students on media production and state narrative promotion.

The MACOSA executive body expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Charity for driving youth mobilisation and creating this strategic opportunity for student development and institutional collaboration.
