Former Gov Bello urges Kogi lawmakers to unite behind Gov Ododo

Former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has urged lawmakers in the state to foster unity and throw their weight behind current Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

This call to action came during a Ramadan Iftar gathering, where Bello hosted prominent political figures, including Hon. Abdullahi Halims, Hon. Leke Abejide of the ADC, members of the Kogi State House of Assembly, supporters, and well-wishers. at Okene.

Bello urged all the lawmakers from Kogi State in the National Assembly to firmly support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and its progressive policies aimed at driving national development.

He added that the importance of backing President Tinubu’s government, is focused on addressing the country’s challenges and implementing laudable plans and programs for Nigeria’s progress.

He stressed the need for unity among Kogi State’s political stakeholders, urging them to come together in support of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

He also emphasised the importance of cohesion and solidarity, encouraging all stakeholders to rally behind the Governor to drive progress in the state.

Bello further stated that to achieve lasting progress, collective effort and political stability are essential for building on existing developmental gains and ensuring a seamless transition to the new administration.

Hon. Abdullahi Halims of the APC in the House of Representatives, spoke on behalf of the delegation, reaffirming their unwavering loyalty to both the former and current Governors of Kogi State.

He highlighted the significance of their gathering, stating that it demonstrates the unity and strength of Kogi’s political leadership.

According to Halims, their shared objective is to establish a strong, united political family that prioritises the state’s interests.

Hon. Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), praised Yahaya Bello’s political vision, calling his support for Governor Ododo “divinely inspired”.

Abejide noted that Governor Ododo’s leadership has maintained unity among Kogi’s diverse ethnic groups, promoting peace and development in the state.

He reaffirmed the people of Kogi State’s unwavering loyalty to Bello, pledging their unrelenting support through all challenges and triumphs.

Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Yahaya Bello for his visionary leadership and guidance.

On behalf of the Assembly, he reaffirmed their loyalty and unwavering commitment to standing firmly with Governor Ododo and also the former Governor, acknowledging his enduring legacy.

The gathering marked a significant milestone in Kogi State’s political landscape, as it strengthened the alliance between President Tinubu and Governor Ododo’s supporters. This solidarity underscores the state leadership’s commitment to unity, paving the way for progress and development in Kogi State.
