From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The lawmaker representing Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Raheem Ajuloopin, has condemned the recent attack on residents of Idofin Odo-Ashe in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State.

He described it as a cowardly and senseless act aimed at destabilising the peaceful community.

In a statement issued recently, Hon. Ajuloopin, expressed deep concern over the tragic incident and sympathised with victims, their families, and the entire Idofin community.

He stressed that no society can progress in the face of persistent violence and called for urgent action to bring the culprits to justice.

“Security is everyone’s business. We cannot afford to leave the safety of our communities solely to government agencies. Every citizen must be actively involved in safeguarding our environment and ensuring that peace prevails,” he said.

The federal lawmaker commended the prompt intervention of the federal and Kwara State Governments security agencies, and local vigilante groups in responding to the incident.

He, however, emphasised that the fight against insecurity must be a collective effort involving all stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents.

Hon. Ajuloopin reaffirmed his commitment to working with relevant authorities to restore lasting peace and security across Kwara South and other affected parts of the state.

He also appealed to residents of Idofin and surrounding communities to remain calm, assuring that both federal and state governments are taking concrete steps to address the underlying causes of insecurity and prevent a recurrence.
