From Joseph Adahnu, Yola.

‎Adamawa State Government has debuncked false rumors peddling round, alleging that it has ordered the closure of all schools across the state.

‎A statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Humwashi Wonosikou, described the report as misleading, malicious, and deliberately crafted to causes unnecessary tension.

‎The statement further said at no time did the government ever thought of closing down schools or any directive issued to that effect.

Government insisted that the false information was the handiwork of mischief makers who are bent on sowing confusion and undermining the administration’s steady progress in the education sector.

‎According to the statement, Governor Fintiri, condemned the rumor in strong terms, saying it lacked basis, substance and truth. ‎The Governor urged parents, students, teachers, and the general public to disregard the report and continue with all academic activities without interruption just as he re-emphasised that schools across the state remain open and fully operational.

‎Governor Fintiri warned that government will not hesitate to take firm and decisive action against individuals or groups circulating falsehoods capable of destabilizing the state.

‎Fintiri emphasised that the administration will not tolerate any attempt to sabotage its commitment to transform the education sector or to disrupt public peace through the spread of misinformation.

He highlighted the significant gains his administration has recorded in education, noting that ongoing reforms and investments are aimed at strengthening learning environments and securing a brighter future for the state’s children.

‎He reiterated that his government remains focused on delivering quality education and will stay the course despite distractions from detractors.

‎He appealed to residents to remain calm, vigilant, and supportive of government initiatives, and that collective cooperation is essential in building a stronger and more progressive Adamawa State.

‎He urged citizens to rely on verified information from official channels and to avoid amplifying unsubstantiated claims.

‎While frowning at the misleading information, the Governor issue stain warning and cautioned those responsible for peddling the rumor to desist immediately or face the full weight of the law.

He assured the public that the government will continue working tirelessly to make Adamawa a centre of educational excellence.
