Commissioners and Special Advisers in Adamawa State, have declared their loyalty and joined Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, after his defection and formal registration to the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Yola.
The Chairman Commissioner’s Forum, Hon. Alloucious Babadoke, said members of the State Executive Council resolved to politically align with the governor.
Babadoke said, “On behalf of 22 Executive Council members, commissioners declared total loyalty and commitment to the Fresh Air Administration by joining the APC.”
Speaking also, Mr James Iliya and Dr Garba Pella, expressed readiness to mobilise supporters to register with the APC.
They said the decision was taken in the people’s interest and to politically align the state with the national government.
Similarly, the Forum of Special Advisers also announced collective resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the APC.
The announcement was contained in a statement delivered by Forum Chairman, Alhaji Bala Jada.
Jada said the decision followed extensive consultations with stakeholders, including community leaders, youth groups, women associations and professional bodies. He said the move aimed to clarify their political position and reaffirm commitment to development, stability and strategic advancement.
He also explained that the Special Advisers, reviewed developments within the PDP, citing internal disputes and litigations creating uncertainty about the party’s trajectory.
He accordingly noted that although the forum acknowledged PDP’s historical role, governance must prioritise pragmatism, foresight and sustain development momentum. Jada said Advisers resigned PDP membership immediately and joined APC to safeguard the state’s strategic position within the federation.
Stressing further that, the decision was not borne out of animosity but a forward-looking step after reflection, consultation and conviction.
Jada reaffirmed loyalty to the governor and support for his administration’s vision driving infrastructure renewal, stronger institutions and expanded essential services.
The Commissioners and Special Advisers thanked citizens for continued support and pledged wider grassroots mobilisation for APC membership.
They said the political alignment would enhance effective representation of the state’s interests at the national level.
