From Joseph Adahnu , Yola

‎The caretaker committee Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC) Adamawa state chapter Caretaker, Saidu Komsiri, has pledged his loyalty to the  founding fathers of the party and to imbibe constitutional rights.

‎Komsiri disclosed this while speaking to  Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), in Yola.

Accordingti him, he has decision to make his first official outing with Journalists, was not a mistake but to let the public know the state of affairs within the Adamawa ADC.

‎The newly inaugurated Chairman of ADC, noted that he has every confidence on the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) formulation, led by Senator David Mark and the ADC National Leader, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, as they are, “visionary leaders capable to steer the party toward national relevance.”

‎Komsiri accordingly said, “the caretaker committee has fully accepted the Transition Steering Committee inaugurated by the NWC on October 25, 2025, but cautioned that its operations must remain within constitutional boundaries. Our acceptance is grounded in firm belief that its creation and functions are in line with the ADC Constitution. Its exercise of power must stay within its limits to guarantee fairness and harmony”.

‎For peace and progress in building the party in the state, “I Saidu Njobdi Komsiri promised to extend my olive branch to Dasin-led transition Committee”.

‎The opportunity to clarify the distinction between the three major committees recognized by the ADC Constitution, the Transition Steering Committee, the Interim (Caretaker) Committee, and the Membership Mobilization, Registration and Renewal Committee, explained further that each committee has unique roles designed to ensure checks and balance within the party.

He identify that, ‎“The problem we are resisting, is the attempt by some actors to merge or manipulate these committees into one. That act violates our internal procedures and undermines democracy.” The chairman elaborated that the Transition Steering Committee serves primarily as a supervisory and advisory body and not an administrative one.

‎Komsiri added that, “It is not political for the Transition Committee to usurp the functions of other bodies or act as judge, jury, and janitor”. He said the Interim (Caretaker) Committee is the legitimate executive leadership of the party at the state level, mandated to manage daily affairs, organise congresses, to rebuild local structures. The Membership Mobilization Committee, focuses on grassroots organization, registration, and the expansion of the ADC membership base.

‎Move to stabilise party operations and end the move to resolve the leadership crisis bedevilling the state chapter for months, Komsiri announced that the caretaker committee has resolved to immediately commence the formation of executive committees in all 21 local government areas and 226 wards of Adamawa State.

‎According to Komsiri, “Our unity is our strength, and our constitution is our guide. We will uphold the ideals of the ADC, rebuild confidence among our members, and reposition Adamawa ADC as a formidable political force once again”.
