Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing technical and vocational education by forging a strategic partnership with the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

Speaking during a meeting with the NABTEB State Coordinator and other board officials at his official residence in Lokoja on Tuesday, Governor Ododo, emphasised the crucial role of technical education in driving self-reliance and economic growth in the state.

Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, the Governor described education as the foundation of societal development, stressing that technical and vocational skills are indispensable for equipping citizens with practical, job-ready expertise.

Governor Ododo highlighted the need for Kogi State to align with contemporary advancements in technical education, warning that failure to do so would hinder progress. He assured the NABTEB delegation of his administration’s readiness to engage key stakeholders to actualise the board’s objectives in the state.

Underscoring his vision for a more robust technical education sector, Governor Ododo noted that his government is collaborating with the Federal Government to integrate national policies on technical vocational training, reinforcing the state’s commitment to skill development and economic empowerment.

Expressing appreciation for the Governor’s unwavering support, the Kogi State Coordinator of NABTEB, Mrs. Ajibili Pauline, commended the administration for its continued sponsorship of May/June NTC-NBA Examination candidates from the State Government Technical College over the past two years.

She lauded Governor Ododo’s leadership as a beacon of progress and urged the state to expand its investment in technical schools to further empower young people.

Mrs. Ajibili also prayed for Governor Ododo and his Deputy, wishing them wisdom, strength, and good health as they strive to lead Kogi State towards greater educational and economic advancements.
