The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has restated its dedication to ensuring public safety and national security as it joined the global community in marking International Civil Defence Day 2025.

Speaking at the event held at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin, the State Commandant, Dr. Umar Mohammed, highlighted the Corps’ crucial role in protecting lives, securing infrastructure, and maintaining peace across the state.

“This year’s theme, ‘Civil Defence: A Guarantee of Security for the Population,’ underscores our commitment to proactive security measures, community engagement, and swift emergency response.

“Beyond reacting to threats, we must educate and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance public safety,” Dr. Mohammed stated.
