It will air on September 30, 2024,

Athough it is an Igala story and the majority of the cast names are all Igala, unfortunately, the entire cast and crew of this show are not Igala.

Set in the rich cultural backdrop of an Igala community, Omera, is the gripping, emotional, and power-packed story of a young man who dares to take control of his future, only to face the consequences head-on.

In search of greener pastures, he makes the life-altering decision to “japa”, but his dreams are shattered when he’s forced to return home.

What begins as a tale of failure and disappointment transforms into a dramatic journey as he unexpectedly takes over his uncle’s NGO, setting off a storm of ambition, betrayal, and, ultimately, redemption.

Directed and produced by Femi Ogunsanwo, Omera, is an authentic story that’s full of thrills and relatable moments. “We’ve put everything into this project,” Ogunsanwo shared. “Omera is going to keep viewers glued to their screens and craving more.”

Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and Channels, West Africa at MultiChoice, also expressed her excitement, saying, “Right from the very first scene, the twists and deep emotions will pull you in. Omera isn’t just about entertainment, it’s a story that speaks to everyone. This is the series people won’t stop talking about.”

With veteran actor Akin Lewis and rising star Desmond Bryce leading the cast, Omera is going to make a big impact on prime-time TV. Other cast members include Lanre Ayanwale, Baaj Adebule, Godwin Williams, Mary Kowo, and Kingsley Nwachukwu.
