The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, has celebrated the Kuliya of Ilorin, Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, on his 70th birthday, describing him as a distinguished legal practitioner whose contributions extend beyond the courtroom.
Egbewole, in a congratulatory message, made available to journalists in Ilorin by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, said the institution’s Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff and students joined in celebrating the legal icon.
He said, “Today, as always, the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff, and Students of the University of Ilorin rejoice with Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, on the auspicious occasion of his 70th birthday.”
The Vice Chancellor described Ali as an embodiment of “the very best of the legal profession”, noting that his achievements as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and internationally renowned arbitrator had contributed significantly to raising standards in legal practice.
According to him, Prof. Ali’s influence goes beyond his professional accomplishments, particularly through his generosity and sustained commitment to the advancement of education.
Egbewole said the legal practitioner had “left indelible marks on our great University” through his support for educational development and other initiatives.
“At 70, Prof. Ali stands as a beacon of wisdom, humility, and service. He is a pride to the Bar and to humanity,” he added.
The Vice Chancellor prayed for continued good health and strength for the celebrant, as well as many more years of meaningful contributions to Nigeria and humanity.
“We pray that Almighty Allah continue to grant you good health, strength, and many more years of impactful service to the nation and mankind,” Egbewole said.
