On hearing about the abandoned child, Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark, requested that the baby be brought to him. He immediately offered to adopt the baby, stressing that the child should not have to suffer for the actions of an unknown mother.

“The baby did not ask to be born, and it’s wrong to abandon an innocent life like this. I will give him all the care and opportunities like I would my own biological child,” Hon. Edibo said.

He further urged young people, particularly those who are unmarried, to avoid actions that could result in unwanted pregnancies and lead to dire consequences such as abortion or abandonment.

At the naming ceremony held at his residence in Abejukolo, Hon. Edibo named the baby Miracle Ojoduwa Peters, acknowledging the child’s survival as nothing short of a miracle. “God, the giver of life, has chosen to bless me with this child. I will do everything I can to raise him in a godly manner,” he added.
