Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has offered educational support up to university level, for the children of the late Dekina All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Hon. Yunusa Ishaq.

This is even as he also approved automatic employment for the wife of the deceased into the Kogi State Civil Service.
The move comes as a direct response to the unfortunate passing of the APC party stalwart along Ajaokuta road recently.
Governor Ododo desclosed this when he led some top government officials on a condolence visit to the family of the late APC chieftain at Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area.

The Governor explained that the gesture was aimed at ensuring that the children of the deceased continue to have access to quality education up to the University level so as to alleviate the financial burden on the bereaved family
He described late Alhaji Ishaq as a peaceful, committed and dedicated party leader who contributed immensely to the development of his community and the growth of the APC.

According to the Governor, the late party chieftain was a respected figure within the APC and a man of exemplary character whose life of service would remain indelible.
He noted that his death was not only a loss to his immediate family, but to the APC and the entire Dekina Local Government Area ; just as he prayed for the repose of his soul and for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Governor used the occasion to appeal to traditional rulers and community leaders to continue to preach love, unity and peaceful coexistence among their subjects.stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
Earlier Iin his address, the Eje of Dekina, Alhaji Usman Obaje, thanked Governor Ododo for identifying with the people of Dekina in their moment of grief.

The traditional ruler described the Governor’s personal condolence visit as a demonstration of compassionate and responsive leadership.
Speaking On behalf of the family, Onu Yunusa, the son of the deceased, expressed gratitude to the Governor for the visit and the support to the family while praying God to continue to guide and protect him.
In a related development, Governor Ahmed Ododo also paid a condolence visit to the family of the late APC Supervisory Councillor for works in Dekina Local Government Area, Ahmed Abdullahi who also passed away recently.
