•Moves to secure 100% victory for APC in 2027

By Ojotule Romanus

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has tasked all political aides across the state to intensify grassroots mobilization and sensitization targeted at ensuring effective support and victory for All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Governor Ododo gave the charge on Tuesday, during a crucial strategic meeting with political office holders at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja, where he stressed the need for greater coordination, unity, teamwork and direct engagement with the people ahead of 2027 polls.

He charged political appointees to return to their respective constituencies and commence aggressive grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that the All Progressives Congress (APC), must work towards securing a 100 per cent victory in Kogi State.

The Governor emphasised that the responsibility of securing the confidence of the electorate cannot be left to a few individuals; just as he charged every appointee to see the assignment as a collective political responsibility requiring personal commitment and sustained presence at the grassroots.

Ododo told the appointees of the need to immediately relocate and reconnect with their people, engage community leaders, youths, women and other stakeholders, listen to their concerns and effectively communicate the achievements of his administration and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He particularly emphasised that government achievements must not remain within the confines of official documents or government offices, but must be taken directly to the people. According to him, appointees are strategically positioned to explain the policies and programmes of both the Kogi State Government and the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Governor charged the appointees to remain accessible, responsive and politically active in their constituencies, stressing that victory is built from the grassroots through continuous engagement, trust and effective mobilisation.

He further urged them to work as a united team, insisting that the strength of the APC in Kogi State lies in its ability to speak with one voice, mobilise across communities and translate the administration’s achievements into renewed confidence among the electorate.

The Governor said the coming period should not be treated as a time for political drama or complacency, but as a period for serious engagement, strategic planning and action. He therefore tasked the appointees to intensify their mobilisation efforts and ensure that no community, ward or constituency is left behind.

Governor Ododo also gave indications of a massive employment initiative designed to create opportunities for thousands of Kogites. He referenced plans involving more than 12,000 opportunities, revealing his administration’s commitment to expanding access to employment and empowering citizens.

The strategic meeting he said was a reaffirmation of his determination to deploy the full strength of the state’s political structure towards achieving an unprecedented 100 per cent APC victory in Kogi State in 2027, while simultaneously ensuring that the people feel the impact of government through employment, empowerment and other development initiatives.
