The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Electronic Media and the Coordinator Government House Press Crew, Hon. Adebayo Ohiare, has been honoured with an Outstanding Media Coordinator of the Year Award.

The recognition from the Kogi State Command of the Federal Road safety Corps, is for his exceptional contributions to strategic media coordination, public information management and road safety advocacy in Kogi State.

The prestigious award presented to him by the Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rtr. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Uchiola, was part of the highlights of the 2026 Strategic Stakeholders’ Conference on Road Safety held in Government House, Lokoja, with the theme: “Together We Can Save More Lives.”

The event brought together top government officials, road safety experts, media professionals and critical stakeholders committed to promoting safer roads across the state.

Speaking with members of the Government House Press Crew shortly after receiving the award Hon. Ohiare described the recognition as an evidence of teamwork, visionary leadership and the unwavering commitment of the Kogi State Government to effective public communication.

He expressed profound appreciation to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Road Safety Matters, Hon. Suberu John, PhD, and the conference organizing committee for finding him worthy of the honour.

The award recipient reserved special gratitude for Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, whom he described as the Chief Servant of Kogi State, acknowledging the Governor’s transformational leadership, confidence and unwavering support that have created an enabling environment for excellence in public service.

Hon. Ohiare also commended the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, for his mentorship, guidance and confidence, noting that his leadership has continued to inspire innovation and professionalism in the state’s information management architecture.

In an emotional tribute, Ohiare dedicated the award to members of the Government House Media Corps, praising their dedication, professionalism, loyalty and tireless commitment to projecting the achievements of the Ododo administration.

According to him, the honour was not a personal achievement but a collective victory for every member of the media team working diligently behind the scene.

“I am sincerely grateful to receive the Outstanding Media Coordinator of the Year Award at the Strategic Conference on Road Safety. This award belongs to all of us and serves as motivation to continue serving with excellence,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining excellence in strategic communication, media coordination and public engagement in support of Governor Ododo’s administration, promising to continue promoting initiatives that advance development and public safety in Kogi State.

Hon. Ohiare concluded by giving all glory to God, describing the recognition as both a privilege and a renewed call to greater service.
