From David Onuoja, Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), said that, it has restored the 330kV Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 1, which is currently operational.

In a statement from the General Manager, Public Affairs of TCN, Ndidi Mbah, said the line was restored at approximately 3:27pm on Saturday, 14 February 2026, following the completion of repair works undertaken by TCN’s engineers.

With the restoration of Line 1, it added, bulk power supply to Kaduna Electric has significantly improved, and power supply constraints previously experienced in Kaduna have been alleviated.

Meanwhile, repair works are still ongoing on the 330kV Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 2, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, restoration of Line 2 will be completed soon. This will further strengthen network redundancy and the overall system reliability.
