From David Onuoja Abuja

The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), has announced a notable improvement in power generation following the repair of a vandalized gas supply infrastructure and enhanced gas supply to key thermal power plants.

In a press statement issued and signed by the management this evening, NISO said that the repair brought about improvement.

The Lagos-Escravos-Lagos gas pipeline, repaired by the Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC), has boosted power generation, with affected plants gradually increasing power offtake to ensure the grid stability.

It also said that, other thermal power plants are on standby, awaiting gas supply confirmation, and will be integrated into the national grid to strengthen generation capacity and reduce outages.
