Ogundeyi takes over as Kwara Customs Controller, pledges teamwork, transparency

The Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara Area Command, has witnessed a change in leadership following the formal handover from the outgoing Area Controller, Comptroller Faith Ojeifo, to the Acting Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Najeem Ogundeyi.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Comptroller Ojeifo, expressed deep appreciation to officers and men of the Command, sister security agencies and other stakeholders for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure.

“Together, we recorded commendable achievements in revenue generation, enforcement and service delivery,” Ojeifo said, noting that the collective efforts of personnel contributed significantly to the successes recorded by the Command.

He expressed confidence in the capacity and professionalism of his successor, urging officers to give him the needed cooperation to succeed.

According to him, Ogundeyi possesses the experience and leadership qualities required to sustain and improve on existing achievements.

“I have absolute confidence in his leadership capacity. I urge all officers and men to accord him maximum support, loyalty and cooperation,” he added.

Ojeifo also thanked the Comptroller General of Customs for the opportunity to serve, while wishing the Kwara Command continued peace, progress and operational excellence.

In his acceptance remarks, the Acting Area Controller, DC Najeem Ogundeyi, thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, and the management of the Service for the confidence reposed in him.

He commended the outgoing Controller for his dedication, discipline and exemplary leadership, describing his tenure as one that laid a solid foundation for continued progress in the Command.

“His unwavering commitment to duty and professionalism has set a standard we will continue to build upon,” he stated.

Ogundeyi assured officers and stakeholders that his leadership would be driven by teamwork, professionalism, transparency and discipline, stressing that effective service delivery remains a top priority.

“With the cooperation and support of officers and men, we will continue to achieve our shared objectives. My leadership approach will be anchored on mutual respect, strict adherence to rules and unwavering commitment to excellence,” he said.

He called on personnel to extend to him the same level of cooperation given to his predecessor, adding that collective effort would be key to sustaining achievements and addressing emerging challenges.

“Together, we shall work diligently to sustain existing achievements, tackle emerging challenges and advance the progress of the Kwara Area Command,” Ogundeyi concluded.
