The wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, led a walk through Lokoja to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls.

The event was part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, aimed at raising awareness and promoting action to prevent violence against women and girls.

Hajia Ododo used the platform to urge women and girls to speak out against violence and seek help when needed, emphasising that violence against women and girls is a pervasive problem that affects individuals, communities, and the society as a whole.

She called on government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and individuals to work together to create a society where women and girls can live without fear of violence.
