The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, Shehu Kambile, has resigned as Special Assistant to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, to focus on strengthening the party as a viable opposition platform.

Kambile’s resignation letter, addressed to Governor Fintiri, cited his desire to devote his energy to building a robust and effective opposition in Adamawa State, capable of holding the government accountable and deepening democratic practice.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the state’s peace and development.

Kambile also thanked former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a father figure and democrat who encourages inclusive politics.

Atiku Abubakar commended Kambile’s decision, stating it reaffirms his dedication to the ADC’s ideals and strengthens opposition politics in Nigeria. He urged Kambile to work with other stakeholders to advance the ADC’s objectives, emphasising the importance of a vibrant opposition in democratic consolidation.

Stakeholders in Adamawa State ADC hailed Kambile’s move, believing it will enable him to effectively coordinate the party’s mobilization and advocacy activities, particularly among youth and grassroots supporters, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
