• Decorated patron PBAT Door to Door Movement

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called for increased grassroots mobilisation for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Also in recognition of his commitment to grassroots development and steadfast loyalty to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ododo has been decorated as the patron of the PBAT Door to Door movement , Kogi State chapter.
The PBAT, a grassroots advocacy group dedicated to the ideals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was founded by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo with the aim of mobilizing supports and canvasing votes for the president’s reelection.

The official decoration of Governor Ododo took place in Government House, Lokoja, with members of the group led by it’s National coordinator, Comr. Sunday Asuku, State Executives and Local Government Corinators present.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, commended the group for the honor and charged members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Campaign Team to intensify grassroots mobilisation and engage directly with residents across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He commended the group for their commitment to mobilising support for the President’s re-election bid, emphasising that effective political mobilisation must go beyond campaign materials to meaningful engagements with the people at the community level.
The governor urged the coordinators to strengthen teamwork, establish deeper connections with residents and communicate the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration to the people.
He also expressed appreciation for the support the state had received from the Federal Government, particularly its contributions to the fight against insecurity.
“This is our time to show appreciation. This is our time to say thank you to Mr President,” Ododo said, while acknowledging the contributions of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, as well as Engr Matthew Tola and his wife, whom he commended for their support to Kogi State in tackling criminal activities.
The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement disclosed that it had provided 25 campaign vehicles, 50 public address speakers and other mobilisation materials to support its activities across Kogi State.
The group also announced plans for a rally and the launch of its campaign materials on Monday in Lokoja as part of efforts to strengthen its outreach ahead of the 2027 elections.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the movement, Sunday Asuku, said the visit was to brief the Governor on the group’s activities and formally inform him of the forthcoming rally.
He explained that the movement intended to take its message directly to residents through door-to-door engagements across communities, streets and settlements, using facts to explain the policies and achievements attributed to the Tinubu administration.
Also speaking, the North Central Coordinator, Ambassador Motowa Opeyemi, reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to mobilising support for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, noting that the campaign vehicles and other materials would enhance its reach across the state.
In a significant declaration, the State Coordinator of the movement Comrade David Ogwu, stressed that grassroots politics remains central to the group’s mobilisation strategy, declaring: “Politics is local. In Kogi State, we believe in local politics.”
He explained that the state unit already had established political structures extending to polling units, wards and local government areas, providing a foundation for direct engagement with voters.
