A Cholera outbreak in Mubi North, Mubi South local government areas of Adamawa State, has claimed 13 lives with 236 people affected with the disease.

Confirming the disease, the Honourable Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Chief Felix Tangwami, disclosed this to journalists after the weekly State Executive Council Meeting, presided by Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa  Farauta, at Government House Council chamber, Yola.

He said some of the deceased died at home rather than in health facilities, noted that the state government in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), had taken measures to curtail the outbreak.

According the Commissioner, “from the beginning, we have been on top of the situation. Our presence has been there, and this cannot be denied.”
