From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The University of Ilorin, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hajia Khadijah Abdulmumin Usman, daughter of the institution’s Chancellor and Emir of Katsina, Alhaji AbdulMumin Kabir Usman.

Hajia Khadijah, who died in Abuja at the age of 35, is survived by three children.

In a condolence message released through the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, said her passing is not only a personal loss to the Emir but also a painful blow to the entire Katsina Emirate.

“She was a committed women leader and a humane philanthropist whose contributions touched many lives. Her death will create a vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” Prof. Egbewole stated.
