Former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, hosted the parents of his successor, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, to his Okene residence on Thursday.
This gesture signifies a peaceful transition of power and respect between the former and current state leaders.
The visit of Governor Ododo’s parents, Alhaji Ahmed Sani and Hajia Habibat Ahmed Sani, to former Governor Bello’s residence, underscores the lasting connection between the two families.
This bond is built on their shared dedication to advancing Kogi State’s interests. By fostering this relationship, both families demonstrate their commitment to the state’s progress, setting a positive tone for future collaborations.
Bello took a moment to express his heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support and steadfast prayers he received. He was truly grateful for the constant encouragement and backing, which meant the world to him.
He praised the parents’ significant role in shaping their children’s moral character, noting that their efforts had played a crucial part in moulding Governor Ododo into the disciplined and compassionate leader he is today.
Former Governor Bello lavished praise on Mr. and Mrs. Ahmed Sani, commending their exceptional parenting skills.
He noted that the values and teachings they instilled in their son, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, were clearly reflected in his outstanding character and leadership abilities.
He revealed that selecting Governor Ododo as his successor was a thoughtful and intentional choice and acknowledged that Ododo’s compassionate leadership style, which prioritises the welfare of the people, was a key factor in his decision.
Former Governor Bello expressed confidence in Governor Ododo’s ability to build upon his administration’s achievements, ultimately benefitting Kogi State as a whole.
He praised Ododo as a worthy successor, highlighting his compassion for the people’s struggles and commitment to the state’s development. Bello is optimistic that Ododo’s tenure will reinforce the foundations laid during his administration and propel Kogi State to even greater heights.
Alhaji Ahmed Sani was deeply grateful to former Governor Yahaya Bello for trusting and confidence in his son, Governor Ododo. He considered this gesture to be rare and truly commendable, acknowledging the significant responsibility that came with it.
Alhaji Sani exaulted Yahaya Bello’s resilience in the face of challenges. He described these challenges as trials by fire, divinely ordained to temper the mettle of exceptional leaders like Yahaya Bello.
