The Kogi State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), on Saturday, joined the nationwide sensitisation campaign by staging its “No Wahala” Road Show in Lokoja, as part of preparations for the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) Abuja 2026.

The road show forms part of a coordinated nationwide mobilisation directed by the NIPR National Council, with state chapters across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory taking the message of the global event to the streets on the same day.
The exercise aims to create public awareness about the significance of responsible communication and build anticipation for Nigeria’s hosting of the international gathering.
WPRF Abuja 2026, organised by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management and hosted by the NIPR, is scheduled to hold from November 15 to 21, 2026, primarily at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
Themed “Responsible Communication: The Voice of the World,” the forum is expected to attract more than 3,000 delegates from over 126 countries. It will run alongside the 37th African Public Relations Association (APRA) Conference and is described by organisers as one of the biggest, brightest and boldest editions of the event.
In Lokoja, members of the Kogi NIPR Chapter, led by Chairman Ismaila Isah (Special Adviser to the Governor on Media), mobilised practitioners, students, media professionals and other stakeholders for the procession.
The chapter has tagged its contribution the “No Wahala” Road Show — a catchy, local-flavoured slogan reflecting the Nigerian spirit of resilience and problem-free engagement — to promote the forum’s message of ethical and responsible communication.
The nationwide road shows, including the one in Lokoja, are designed to take the message of professional public relations beyond practitioners to the general public, encourage early registration and participation, showcase Nigeria’s capacity to host major international events, and sustain media visibility ahead of the November gathering.
NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, has been leading related awareness activities, including a national road walk in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on the same day, while chapters in Lagos, Ondo, Kaduna and other states conducted similar processions.
The Kogi Chapter, which was resuscitated earlier in 2026 with an interim executive committee under Isah’s leadership, has been active in strengthening professional practice in the state through inductions, advocacy visits and capacity-building initiatives.
The road show underscores the chapter’s commitment to contributing to the national effort of positioning Nigeria as a hub for global conversations on public relations and strategic communication.
Public relations practitioners, students of mass communication, youth groups, journalists and members of the public were urged to participate fully and spread the word about WPRF Abuja 2026. Registration details and further information are available on the official WPRF website.
As the countdown continues, the “No Wahala” Road Show in Lokoja adds a distinctive Kogi flavour to the nationwide campaign, reinforcing the message that effective, responsible communication remains central to national development and global engagement.
