We are 100% logistically ready for July LGA election -Umar

The Chairman Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Mohammed Umar, says the Commission is 100 percent logistically ready and prepared for the 13th July, Chairman ship and Councillorship election in the State.
Umar made this known to Newsmen in his office in Yola, the State capital.
He stated: “We are 100 percent logistically ready and prepared for the 13th July Local Government Area election which cuts across the 21 councils in the state.”
On the number of ad-hoc staff for the election, the Chairman revealed that all the 4,104 polling units will be manned by three ad-hoc staff to include the security agencies.
He added that security agencies in the state had screened all the candidates involved in the election with none disqualified, adding that the Commission has no right to disqualify any candidate.
According to him, they are 60 contestants for the Chairmanship position across party lines in the 21 local government council seats.
He added: “Security has been beefed up in all local government areas where black spots were identified.”
ADSIEC Commissioner reiterated that 12 political parties are participating in the election.
According to him, “The two major opposition parties, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP), have distanced themselves and followers from participating in the exercise, describing it as child’s play.”
