VP Shettima arrives Okene By Ojotule Romanus
Vice-President Kashim Shettima, has arrived Okene town for a condolence visit, following the recent passing of the father of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo.
Shettima and his entourage were received at the Obajana Airstrip by the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Elder Salifu Joel Oyibo before proceeding by road to Okene.
The Vice President, was accompanied by Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, amongst other high profile dignitaries.
Shettima condoled Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Odoodo and the entire people of the State over the demise of Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo.
The Vice President described the late Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani, as “a man of deep faith and remarkable humility whose life of service to God and humanity continues to reflect in the leadership qualities of his son, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo”.
He urged the Governor and the entire Ododo family to be consoled by the fact that their father lived a fulfilled life, leaving behind enduring legacies of discipline, truthfulness, and compassion.
The VP further described the late MomohSani Ododo, as a philanthropist and a bridge builder who has contributed to the peace and development of his community; pointing out that the condolence visit was to identify with Governor Ododo and his family during this difficult time.
The Vice president described Governor Ododo as a worthy son and an ambassador of the family, just as he used the forum to appeal for peace in Kogi State, Noth Central and Nigeria as a whole.
He then prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the Irreparable loss and grant his soul eternal rest.
Responding, Governor Ododo expressed profound appreciation to the Vice President for personally visiting despite his tight schedule.
He noted that the gesture was not just a show of solidarity to his family but also a demonstration of the Vice President’s commitment to the values of unity and compassion.
