UNILORIN announces 2024 Convocation programme, AGF Fagbemi to deliver lecture

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has unveiled its programme for the 2024 convocation ceremony, with the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN, scheduled to deliver the convocation lecture.

According to a statement issued by the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, Chief Fagbemi will deliver the lecture titled “Nurturing Democratic Values and Education for the Future of Nigeria” on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the University Auditorium.

The lecture will commence at 9:45 a.m. as part of activities marking the university’s 39th convocation.

The convocation will officially begin with a press briefing by the Vice Chancellor on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the University Auditorium at 10:00 a.m. Following the lecture, the convocation play titled “Nilee Wa” (In Our Land) will be staged at the institution’s Performing Arts Theatre.

The main convocation events will be held on Monday, October 21, and Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Graduands from ‘4 Year’ and ‘5 Year’ programmes, as well as the Postgraduate School, will receive their degrees on these days.

Additionally, on October 22, 2024, the Visitor to the university, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is expected to commission several newly completed projects on the campus.
