Seeks renewed attention to community needs
From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin
The Owalobbo of Obbo-Ile in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Rufus Adebayo, has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to people-oriented governance, urging him not to lose sight of rural development needs.
In a goodwill message marking the governor’s second year in his second term, the monarch, represented by the new President of Obbo-Ile Descendants Union (ODU), Comrade John Fashikun, praised AbdulRazaq’s record of completed projects and described him as a “result-oriented leader whose humility continues to open doors of progress for the state.”
“We are proud of Your Excellency’s accomplishments. Completing the 12 Signature Projects is no small feat. Your focus on infrastructure, health, and education has positively impacted our people,” Oba Adebayo stated.
He however, used the opportunity to remind the governor of earlier community requests submitted between 2020 and 2023. These, he said, include medical facilities, improved structures and learning materials for schools, and the reactivation of Obbo-Ile’s water system.
According to the monarch, “Our women and children still trek long distances to fetch water. We plead once again that our water project be revived to ease their burden and improve overall health in the community.”
While assuring the governor of the continuous support and prayers of the people of Obbo-Ile, the traditional ruler appealed for urgent attention to these lingering developmental needs to deepen the impact of the current administration at the grassroots.
