From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

Nottingham Forest and Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has reaffirmed his commitment to nurturing young football talent in Kwara State through the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation’s sponsorship of the Kwara Kiddies League.

In a show of support, Awoniyi, through his foundation, will provide sets of jerseys to all teams participating in the league, while Dettol, where Awoniyi serves as an ambassador, will offer hygiene-related gifts to the young athletes.

This partnership emphasizes the importance of promoting health, hygiene, and sports development among Nigeria’s youth.

Speaking on the initiative, Awoniyi said, “We believe in empowering the next generation of footballers, and this is one of the ways we can help these young players pursue their dreams.”

The jersey presentation is set for Saturday, September 28, at the Kwara Football Academy.

As part of his broader plans to expose local talent to international opportunities, Awoniyi will also introduce the “Wyscout Camera” initiative to showcase the talents of Kwara Kiddies League players to a global audience.

Furthermore, the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation will launch a meal program to ensure that each player receives a nutritious meal, contributing to their overall well-being.

Awoniyi had earlier signed a three-year deal with the league organizers in June.
