•Inaugurates Principal Officers, Governing Council of PAAU

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has inaugurated the principal officers and members of the Governing Council of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, reinforcing the State Government’s commitment to academic excellence and institutional growth.

The inauguration was performed on behalf of Governor Ododo by the Secretary to the Kogi State Government (SGS), Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade.

In a passionate address, the SGS applauded the State Government for its heavy investment in the education sector, describing education as the most effective weapon to eradicate terrorism and insecurity.

“Education is the basic foundation needed to kill terrorism,” Dr. Ayoade declared, emphasising that the Ododo administration’s focus on developing educational institutions would produce long-term benefits for the state and the nation.

She stressed that the betterment of Prince Abubakar Audu University is a collective responsibility requiring teamwork between the government and the university’s staff.

The SGS recognized the presence of the Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, describing it as a strong show of solidarity with the Vice-Chancellor, who is from Ankpa. She urged all the principal officers and council members, whom she referred to as friends, to work together harmoniously and take Prince Abubakar Audu University to the next level.

The newly inaugurated principal officers are:- Isiaka Audu– Registrar, Abdulsalami Hudu– Bursar and Isah Aminu– Librarian .

The Governing Council is chaired by Prof. Muhammed Audu, with members Adebayo Gbenga Ayodele, Ahmed Eneji Jimoh, and Atule Christopher.

In his response, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Audu, commended former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for the visionary decision to rename the university in honour of the late Prince Abubakar Audu.

He also applauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the continued development and investment in the education sector. Prof. Audu thanked the SGS, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, for her pivotal roles in moving the state forward.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Usman Ogbo, who was present at the ceremony, expressed profound appreciation to Governor Ododo, whom he described as the “Chief Servant” of Kogi State, for giving him the opportunity to serve as the new Vice-Chancellor.

He promised to bring the same level of dedication and success he achieved as Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic to pilot the affairs of PAAU to greater heights.

The colourful event highlighted the determination of the Ododo administration to position education as a cornerstone for socio-economic transformation and human capital development in Kogi State.
