Protest: Karu LG in Nasarawa State imposes curfew from 6pm – 6am

The Executive Chairman of Karu Local Government Council, Hon James Thomas, has imposed 12hours (6pm-6am) curfew in the Local Government Area due to the alleged escalation of the hardship protest that commenced on Thursday.

He said, after due consideration of the ongoing event in the area, he decided to imposed a curfew across the area yesterday until further notice.

In a press statement signed and issued by Comrade Danbaba Uba Magaji, SSA on Media and Publicity to the Executive Chairman, said during this period, movement will be restricted.

The curfew was imposed as a precautionary measure to ensure the full security of the Karu Local Government Area.

According to him, “the curfew will restrict movement of people, Okada and Keke riders, all shops owners, and motorists in Karu LGA as stated above”, he declared.
