The Spiritual Father and Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (C&SMC) Worldwide, Prophet Emmanuel Alogbo, has called on all levels of government in Nigeria to implement policies aimed at alleviating the economic challenges confronting Nigerians.
In his Christmas message titled “Jesus, the Hope of the World,” delivered at the Church Headquarters, Galilee Land, Orile Igbon, Oyo State, Prophet Alogbo highlighted the importance of addressing food insecurity and reducing poverty.
He stressed that food is a fundamental human need, urging the government to ensure its availability and affordability to make the festive season and beyond truly joyful.
Prophet Alogbo remarked, “This period is not just a time to celebrate Jesus Christ as the salvation of the world but also as the hope for this world, especially during these challenging times.
“With global issues like wars, terrorism, economic crises, and climate change threatening humanity, Nigerians are also grappling with rising poverty due to economic policies that have increased the cost of essential commodities.”
He called on the Federal Government to prioritise the affordability of petroleum products, noting the central role of petrol (PMS) as the primary energy source in Nigeria.
“The government must take decisive action to fix the nation’s refineries so that we can refine our crude oil locally. This will make fuel more affordable and accessible,” he said.
While acknowledging the hardships, the Spiritual Father reminded Nigerians of God’s plans for humanity, citing Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
He encouraged Nigerians to reflect on the essence of Christmas, emphasising love, togetherness, and care for the less privileged. “The joy of Christmas should be shared by reaching out to the poor and needy around us,” he added.
Prophet Alogbo concluded his message with prayers for Nigeria and the global community, expressing hope for a better future through the power of God. “At this Christmas and beyond, may the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him, overflowing with hope through the Holy Spirit,” he prayed.
