From David Onuoja, Abuja

The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has just held a strategic closed-door meeting with the leadership of some selected Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos), over the proposed Energy Zones, designed to deliver stable, 24-hour power supply to homes, businesses and industries in the country’s highest-demanded areas such as Lagos axis, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano and Enugu-Port-Harcourt.

In a statement issued and signed today by the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Adeola Adelabu said the meeting was in respect of the proposed power supply to the aforementioned areas in the Country.

According to the statement, the Minister said “in furtherance of the Federal Government’s commitment to deliver reliable electricity to Nigerians, some selected Electricity Distribution Companies were invited for the close-door meeting”.

Joseph Tegbe added that, the constraint on the power sector is not just limited to generation and transmission but also on how much power is taken up and delivered at the distribution end.
