The Kwara State Police Command, has assured residents of the Danialu and Agbabiaka communities in Ilorin of their safety following reports of unidentified persons sighted around the areas.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, the Command acknowledged receiving information from vigilant residents who noticed the presence of unfamiliar individuals near Danialu Primary School and its environs.
The statement commended the alertness of the communities and their promptness in reporting the development, describing such cooperation as vital to maintaining peace and security in the state.
“Upon receiving the report, the Command immediately deployed operatives to the affected locations for discreet surveillance, intelligence gathering, and regular patrols,” CP Ojo was quoted as saying. “These proactive steps are aimed at ensuring that no form of criminal activity or threat to public safety is allowed to take root.”
The Commissioner urged residents to remain calm and continue with their lawful activities without panic, assuring that the police are fully committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
He further encouraged the public to continue sharing credible information with security operatives through the Command’s emergency lines or the nearest police station, emphasising that community cooperation remains essential in combating crime.
“The safety of every resident in Kwara State remains our utmost priority, and we will not relent in our duty to protect the people,” the statement added.
