The people of Ogori in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, have expressed deep appreciation to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the timely delivery of relief materials through the State Emergency Management Agency, (SEMA), saying the intervention has eased economic hardship for many families in the area.

In a letter of appreciation signed by the President of the Ogori Descendants’ Union (ODU), Dr. Aiso Osiwomequin, the community said the gesture demonstrated “compassionate leadership and a genuine commitment to the welfare of citizens across Kogi State.”

According to the letter, the items received included 100 bags each of 25kg rice, beans and maize; 15 bags of salt; 14 cartons of sachet tomatoes; 14 cartons of Mr. Chef seasoning cubes; 14 cartons of 5-litre vegetable oil and 50 bags of cement.

Dr. Osiwomequin, who wrote on behalf of the ODU, noted that the relief materials came at a critical time when many households were grappling with rising food prices and other economic challenges.

“These items have brought significant relief and hope to our people, particularly at a time when many families are facing economic challenges.”

The letter read in part: “Your administration’s responsiveness to the needs of the people demonstrates compassionate leadership.”

The community leader also commended the management and staff of Kogi SEMA for ensuring the successful delivery of the items, describing their efforts as “commendable and people-centered.”

He prayed for continued wisdom, strength, good health and success for Governor Ododo as he leads the state “to greater heights,” and assured the Governor of the community’s highest esteem and support.

The relief distribution is part of the Governor Ododo administration’s ongoing efforts to cushion the effects of economic hardship on vulnerable communities across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State.

SEMA has in recent months intensified interventions in flood-prone and food-insecure areas as part of the government’s social protection agenda.

Ogori, known for its strong communal ties, said the donation has further strengthened the bond between the state government and grassroots communities.

When contacted, officials of Kogi SEMA reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to prompt response and equitable distribution of relief materials to all parts of the state.
