From Taiye Joseph Ilorin

The Managing Director of Urban Nexus Limited, Architect Abdulmajeed Mustapha, has assured residents of Offa and sports enthusiasts across Kwara State that the first phase of the ongoing Offa Sports Stadium project will be completed within the next six months.

Mustapha gave the assurance recently, during a media tour organised by the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Correspondents’ Chapel, to inspect ongoing government projects in the Kwara South Senatorial District.

He explained that the 3,000-capacity stadium, when completed, will meet modern sporting standards with quality facilities to support a wide range of sporting and social activities.

“We are working towards completing a standard stadium with facilities such as a football pitch, indoor sports gym, volleyball and basketball courts, as well as a track for athletics.

“The complex will also serve multiple purposes, including hosting meetings, cultural events, and social gatherings. Our target for the completion of phase one is six months, and we are working round the clock to deliver as promised”, Mustapha stated.

The architect noted that special attention was being given to preliminary works to ensure a solid foundation and prevent future structural challenges.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser on Sports to the Executive Chairman of Offa Local Government, Mr. Olabusoye Oladapo, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his unwavering commitment to youth development and sports promotion in the state.

“Governor AbdulRazaq is a sports-loving leader who places high priority on the welfare and development of young people through projects like this,” Oladapo said, expressing confidence that the new stadium will enhance sports participation and talent discovery in Offa and beyond.
