Ododo vows to revitalize Ajaokuta Steel Company

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State, has reassured the citizens of the state that his administration is working tirelessly to revive the Ajaokuta Steel Company, leveraging the support and efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This move aims to restore the company’s former glory and boost the state’s economy.

Governor Ododo, said this, during the launch of the fertilizer and essential items distribution program in Ajaokuta, where he flagged off the event.

The program aims to support the people of Ajaokuta constituency, and the Governor seized the opportunity to reassure them of his administration’s commitment to reviving the Ajaokuta Steel Company.

The Governor, who stressed the significance of empowerment as a key driver of prosperity, poverty eradication, and job creation for the people of Kogi State, believes that by empowering citizens, his administration can unlock economic growth, improve living standards, and foster a brighter future for all.

He commended the organizer of the program, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulrahaman, Member of the House of Representatives for Ajaokuta constituency, for his dedication to delivering the benefits of democracy to his constituents.

While pledging to create more opportunities for the people in collaboration with the government, he encouraged the beneficiaries to utilise the given opportunity, add value to society and shun violence. Even as he emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence and constructive contribution to the community.

Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulrahaman, Member of the House of Representatives for Ajaokuta constituency and organizer of the event, praised Governor Ododo for his tireless efforts in bringing the benefits of democracy to the people of the State.

Abdulrahaman, commended the Governor’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens and delivering on his campaign promises.

Hon. Egidi, stated that he has procured various empowerment items, including solar lights, fertilizers, sewing machines, refrigerators, farm inputs like chemicals and grains, hair dryers, POS terminals, generators, to support 300 beneficiaries in the constituency and financial grants, with inclusive support for people with disabilities.

He also expressed his appreciation to Governor Ododo for his tireless efforts in convincing the President to revive the Ajaokuta Steel Company, a move that promises to bring significant economic growth and development to the region.

He urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment program to make the most of the opportunity, using the resources and support provided to improve their lives and contribute to the community’s progress.

The Ohi Ete of Ajaokuta, Musa Ibrahim, representing the Ohi of Ajaokuta, commended the Governor for his initiative in elevating Ajaokuta traditional rulers to first-class status. He also expressed gratitude to the organizer of the program, Hon. Sanni, for his efforts in bringing development and empowerment to the community.
