Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has ordered the immediate restoration of electricity to Abejukolo, headquarters of Omala Local Government Area.

This move is in line with his administration’s focus on improving the lives of citizens and promoting development across the state.

The Governor gave the directive while paying homage to the Onu Ife and Chairman of the Omala Local Government Traditional Council,HRH Boniface Musa, during a visit to Abejukolo.

He pledged to establish a committee tasked with restoring electricity to areas that have been without power for eleven years, adding that a reliable electricity supply was essential for community development and safety, stressing its importance in curbing criminal activities.

The Governor urged traditional rulers to continue sharing valuable information with security agencies, a crucial collaboration that helps combat crime and maintain peace in the community.

“By working together, you can create a safer environment for everyone,” the governor added.

The Onu Ife and Chairman of Omala Local Government Traditional Council, HRH Boniface Musa, expressed appreciation to the Governor for visiting Omala, noting that the visit has brought immense relief to the people.

He commended the Governor for restoring peace in Bagana and Odo districts through the deployment of military personnel and also for awarding the rehabilitation of Abejukolo township road as well as lifting the suspension order on him.

Abejukolo, the headquarters of Omala Local Government Area, has been plagued by a prolonged power outage since 2013. This blackout is attributed to a longstanding dispute between the Abuja Electricity Regulatory Commission and its Jos counterpart.
