Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, recently attended a prayer session to pay his respect to the late Hajia Amina Yusuf Okala, mother of the state’s Auditor-General, Yusuf Okala.

Describing her as a woman of exceptional character and virtue. He offered these kind words during the eighth-day fidau prayer session held in her honor at the Central Mosque in Ajiolo Ojaji, Dekina Local Government Area.

He also extended his condolences to the entire family, offering words of comfort and praying for God to grant them strength during this difficult time.

The Governor’s presence at the prayer session, which drew cheers from the community, showcased his dedication to community and family, highlighting the importance of coming together to support one another in times of need.

The outpouring of affection is a testament to Governor Ododo’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of the people of Kogi State.

During the prayer session, Governor Ododo delivered a heartfelt goodwill message, eulogising the late Hajia Amina, as a woman of substance and virtue. He urged everyone to emulate her exemplary character, emphasising the importance of loving one another and putting God first in all aspects of life.

Governor Ododo while addressing the people of Ajiolo in Dekina LGA, noted that their gathering was not solely to mourn the deceased, but to celebrate the remarkable life she lived.

He encouraged the community to emulate her exemplary lifestyle by prioritising quality education and instilling good morals in their children.

Governor Ododo stressed the importance of parents providing their children with good moral foundation, enabling them to make valuable contributions to the country’s development.

He also urged children to reciprocate by taking care of their parents, highlighting the need for mutual support and respect within families.

Governor Ododo praised Dekina Local Government for its vast mineral resources, stating that when properly utilised, they have the potential to sustain the entire state.

He urged the community to vigilantly protect these resources by reporting any suspicious activities to security personnel.

The Governor also made a commitment to upgrade the Dekina road and connect it to the national grid, which will undoubtedly enhance the area’s infrastructure and economic prospects.

The Governor praised the Auditor-General for his exceptional character, dedication to duty, and significant contributions to government activities.

To many, Late Hajia Amina Yusuf Okala was a pillar of strength and a shining example of kindness, compassion, and generosity. But to her son, Alh. Yakubu Okala, the Auditor General for Kogi State, she was more than that – she was a mother of good character who loved humanity with all her heart.

Alh. Yakubu Okala remembered his mother as a woman of virtue who had a deep fear of God. He described her as a devoted parent who ensured that all her children were well-trained, educated, and instilled with the fear of God. Adding that her love and efforts in training her children were unwavering, and her legacy will continue to live on through them.

As the family and friends of Late Hajia Amina Yusuf Okala, gathered to pay their last respects, Yakubu Okala, took a moment to express his gratitude to Governor Ododo for his show of love and concern. He prayed that God Almighty would continue to bless the Governor and lead him on the right path to govern the good people of Kogi State.

The Ogohi Onu of Ayingba, Alhaji Abubarkar Shaibu Okolo, spoke on behalf of the deceased’s family, expressing gratitude to the Governor for attending the event with his entourage.

He urged the people to unite in support of the Governor’s vision for the state, which aligns with his own commitment to the well-being of his people, as seen in his felicitations with Muslims on Eid Il Kabir.

The Ogohi also commended the Governor for ensuring prompt salary payments to workers, which has significantly improved living conditions in rural areas.

A special prayer was held for the state Governor, seeking divine guidance and wisdom to steer the state towards greater prosperity. The prayer, led by Alhaji Isa Yahaya, the Chief Imam of Dekina Central Mosque, ask for strength and wisdom for the Governor to effectively lead the state.

The event was attended by top government officials, dignitaries, and well-wishers, demonstrating the state’s commitment to supporting its citizens during difficult times.
