Obbo-Ile, Obbo Ayegunle indigenes applaud Gov AbdulRazaq for honouring Princess

Indigenes of Obbo-Ile and Obbo Ayegunle in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State have commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for recognising the contributions of Princess Bola Esan, a former Director of Sports in the state.

Their appreciation follows the recent naming of a hostel in her honor, acknowledging her outstanding service and dedication to sports development in Kwara and Nigeria.

In a joint statement, the President of Obbo Ayegunle Descendants Union, Architect Enock Ogun, and President, Obbo Ile Descendants Union, Chief Biobaku Adebayo, expressed gratitude to the governor for immortalising Princess Esan.

They described the recognition as a well-deserved tribute to her commitment and sacrifices, emphasising that it would serve as motivation for others in the sports sector.

“Naming a hostel after her is a befitting way to appreciate her contributions. It will inspire more people to work for the progress of the state and the nation,” the statement read.

Princess Bola, who led Nigeria’s contingent to the Commonwealth Games in Australia, was celebrated for her remarkable career in sports administration before retiring successfully from service.
