The Chapel also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his tireless efforts in driving infrastructural development across critical sectors and ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state.

He noted that these achievements have greatly enhanced effective information dissemination in the state.

Receiving the award, the Commissioner, who was represented by the Technical Assistant to the Ministry, Mr. Ebenezer Adurodija, expressed profound appreciation to the Chapel for the recognition.

He urged information officers to intensify their efforts and remain steadfast in ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of government policies, programmes, and activities to the public.

He particularly appreciated Governor Ododo for his outstanding performance, describing it as a major factor that has made the work of the state’s chief information officer and other information personnel more effective.

Hon. Fanwo also encouraged members of the Information Chapel to continue serving as worthy ambassadors of the Ministry in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), assuring them of the Ministry’s continued support to enable them succeed in their duties.

In his address, the Chairman of the State Information Chapel, Mr. Abubakar Shuiabu, described the end-of-year gathering as a celebration of identity, unity, struggle, perseverance, and family.

He explained that the theme, “Bridging the Gap,” was deliberately chosen to foster stronger connections between government and the public, retirees and serving officers, the past and the future, traditional information management and modern journalism, talent and opportunity, as well as addressing emotional gaps within the profession.

Mr. Shuiabu thanked the Commissioner for his consistent support and commended retirees for laying a solid foundation upon which serving officers continue to build.

He urged serving officers to embrace technology, improve the quality of their reportage, uphold integrity, and always stand by the truth regardless of audience or circumstance.

In their separate remarks, the Zone D Vice President of NUJ National, Mr. Adeiza Momoh, and the Chairman of NUJ Kogi State Chapter, Alhaji Seidu Adamu, commended the State Information Chapel Chairman and his executive members for successfully organising what they described as a landmark Maiden Annual Gathering.

They urged information officers to remain committed, diligent, and professional in their respective MDAs.
