The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has taken action against poor manufacturing practices by sealing three alcoholic beverage factories in Jos, Plateau State.

Two factories, Bemag Industries Nigeria Ltd. and Good Life Global Beverages Ltd. were sealed for failing to adhere to good manufacturing practices.

Additionally, Stevenson Multi Global Ltd. was closed for producing banned alcoholic beverages in sachets, worth N6 million, without NAFDAC registration.

The nationwide raid follows NAFDAC’s directive issued in 2018, mandating alcoholic beverage producers to stop manufacturing alcohol in 100ml, 30ml, 20 ml, and sachet forms by January 31, 2024. This measure aims to combat alcohol abuse, particularly among youths, in Nigeria.
