Workers key into Tinubu/Ododo’s re-election

By Samuel Atulukwu

The Local Government Secretariat at Mopa was agog on Friday as the jubilant workers trooped out in their numbers to receive the Workplace Security Campaign team.

The workers who were led by their various Union leaders, demonstrated genuine acceptance of the continuity of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Speaking at the occasion, Chairman of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the area, Comrade Joseph Gbenga, noted that they are happy because Governor Ododo has put a smile on their faces.

According to him, there are reasons to celebrate the government of the day having done well for the workers, particularly the local government workers.

The NULGE Chairman in Mopamoro who also passed a vote of confidence on the Governor for an impressive performance, assured that they were confident that workers would benefit more when the two are returned to office in 2027.

In his presentation, the State Chairman of Public Service Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), Comrade Olusegun Alemeru, explained that the campaign to the area was to intimate the workers on the importance of security at the levels.

Comrade Alemeru urged them to see the opportunity as a test of conscience, saying voting for Governor Ododo and M
President Tinubu in the forthcoming election was sacrosanct for job security.

He appreciated them for the warm reception and assured that their concerns would be presented to the Governor for necessary consideration.

The leader of the team, Comrade Onuh Edoka, said the workers have the opportunity of making informed decisions based on the sensitisation.

Comrade Edoka urged the unions to always speak with one united voice, assuring that there were more welfare programmes awaiting workers in Kogi State.
